What it is
A stablecoin promises to track the dollar. The peg is how closely it keeps that promise. Reserves, redemptions and market makers hold it in place, until confidence is tested.
How to read it
A move of a few tenths of a percent on a major stablecoin is worth your attention. In March 2023, USDC traded near 88 cents for a weekend.
